Description: The existing 30-year-old Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) facility at the Daytona Beach International Airport (DBIA) is being replaced by a new state-of-the-art facility. The new building will house fire services staff 24 hours a day and include offices, living quarters, a fitness facility, SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus), medical decontamination, medical storage, gear wash/dry, kitchen, day room, locker room, showers, storage, and multi-vehicle drive through apparatus bays. The new building is designed to achieve LEED® Silver certification. Construction is anticipated to begin April 2016 and completed in 2017.
